ROBOTICS AND DESIGN TEACHER - SWAMPSCOTT MIDDLE SCHOOL
Swampscott Middle School is looking for a dynamic educator for our 5th-8th grade Robotics and Design classes, which are part of our specialist “wheel.” Our Robotics and Design room includes a variety of LEGO components, mBots, and a classroom set of PC laptops.
We are looking for someone who will create a classroom environment that is engaging and encourages increased awareness, practice, and interest in technology, design, and robotics. An effective teacher will leverage thoughtful approaches to teaching (e.g. Universal Design for Learning), and project-based learning experiences, and will guide students toward mastery of curriculum standards.

This position may require long periods of sitting, talking, or hearing in person and by telephone; using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. The individual may be exposed to ultraviolet lights as are found in computer monitors and copying equipment. The individual may be exposed to various hazards in the building.

Note: Robotics and Design are currently one of 6 specialist courses at SMS that also includes PE/Wellness, Music, Art, Computers, Tech Ed.
