Who We Are
We’re a fast-moving embodied intelligence company building next-generation systems where power density, thermal efficiency, and mechanical integration are critical. Our work combines high-performance motors, custom motor controllers, and tightly integrated designs — pushing the limits of what’s possible in constrained form factors.
What You’ll Do
We are seeking a hands-on Thermo-Mechanical Engineer to own the complete thermal strategy across our motors, motor controllers, and actuator assemblies. You will play a key role in ensuring our systems can operate reliably and at peak performance within aggressive space and weight constraints.
You will:
Develop thermal models (both analytical and simulation-based) of motors, controllers, and integrated assemblies.
Design and execute experiments to validate and refine thermal models with real-world data.
Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and systems teams to architect thermal management solutions (air-cooled, liquid-cooled, or hybrid).
Evaluate and design packaging solutions to balance thermal dissipation, manufacturability, and structural integrity.
Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) for thermal components and assemblies.
Lead thermal risk assessments and contribute thermal insights across the full product development cycle — from concept to production.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years experience in thermal analysis, thermal design, and mechanical integration for high-power or high-density systems (robotics, aerospace, EVs, or similar industries).
Strong foundation in fluid dynamics and heat transfer fundamentals, with practical experience in CFD and thermal FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, FloTHERM, STAR-CCM+).
Experience designing experiments to validate thermal performance (temperature mapping, thermocouple placement, IR imaging, etc.).
Familiarity with thermal interface materials, heatsink design, and packaging considerations in space-constrained environments.
Hands-on prototyping and testing experience.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
Bonus Points
Experience with motor cooling strategies (e.g., rotor cooling, stator slot cooling, direct liquid cooling).
Experience in high-performance robotics, drone, aerospace, or EV motor systems.
Familiarity with electrical and electronic component thermal management (e.g., FETs, PCBs).
Prior experience in scaling designs for low-volume manufacturing.
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
