Responsibilities:

  • Enhances robot performance by tuning controls systems
  • Generates reliability test plans and executes them
  • Conducts functional and reliability testing on single and multi-link robots and controllers
  • Performs firmware regression testing, identifies technical issues, and works with software engineering to resolve
  • Designs, fabricates, validates, qualifies, and sets up test equipment, jigs and fixtures
  • Creates test scripts to automate test conditions
  • Collects test data, performs analysis, and presents findings
  • Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical failures and malfunctions and reports findings
  • Investigates product failures, determines root cause, generates containment, plans and implements corrective actions
  • Initiates CIPs and process improvement projects and completes them in alignment with org. vision
  • Implements/maintains 5S methodologies and lean practices in the lab Β 

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of mechanical systems and general engineering concepts
  • Understanding of quality concepts and principles
  • Basic skills in scripting and programming in Python, C++, or Matlab
  • Proficient with instrumentation and computer tools for data collection (serial data loggers)
  • Must be able to multi-task, adapt to change, and work within a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and specificationsΒ 

Preferred skills:

  • Basic understanding of mechatronics
  • Background in robotics and/or semiconductor equipment
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Laser Tracker operation
  • Solidworks/AutoCAD/Pro-E/NX
  • Strength to lift up to 50 poundsΒ 

Years of Experience: 3-5 years of direct experience in Testing and Reliability engineering, data acquisition, and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems or 0-1 years with graduate degree

Education: B.S. in ME, EE, IE, or Mfg. Engineering

Travel: Must be willing and able to travel domestically/internationally 3-5% of the time
